EDAPRO GmbH

EDAPRO. The skin fertility and the strengthening of the plant beacuse of the microorganisms in the compost tea - in the soil and on the plant!

Healthy plants by living soil:
Life in the soil is rarely noticed. It is the key to healthy and vigorous plant growth. With our compost tea we have found the solution to invigorate the soil and promote the plants in their growth. We achieve this by a high number of natural microorganisms in the compost tea.

Pitfalls and challenges

1. How did the project come to life?
EDAPRO GmbH, headquartered in Wädenswil, is a spin-off of the Institute for Environment and Natural Resources of the ZHAW in Wädenswil. In February 2016 EDAPRO GmbH was founded by the three ZHAW graduates and environmental engineers Ludwig Glöcklhofer, Adrian Rubi und Lorenz Rieger. Since then, EDAPRO has been selling solutions for the sustainable, biological management of agricultural and field areas. For six years Lorenz began to start with the using of compost tea. The study gave him the possibility to take a closer look at the compost. His results convinced Ludwig and Adrian to concentrate on the using of compost tea even during his studies at the ZHAW Wädenswil. The positive research results led to the idea of founding a company. The successful crowdfunding project confirmed the team's actions and enabled the company´s founding. In countries like the USA or Australia, compost tea is a common practice in regard of agriculture. However, the term "compost tea" provides questioning glances. Our aim is to establish and develop compost tea as a tool to increase soil fertility in agriculture.
2. If you found the company again, what would you do exactly and what would you do differently?
Different: Elaboration of a 2 strategy financial planning with a deeper investment volume.
Same: crowdfunding, team (friendly relationship with similar values), early customer contact
3. Are there any difficulties regarding the foundation?
You should observe the legal situation / approvals. Moreover your product must have an economically use.
4. What are the biggest challenges in regard of the foundation?
(Risk) willingness of the farmers to move / environmental awareness.
Microbiology and its impact on the environment is an unknown topic for many people. A great deal of success should also be invested in the awareness training.
5. Did you have positive or negative incidences which motivated you?
Crowdfunding, environmentally relevant news (water pollution, soil degradation)
